Responsibilities:
- Providing subject matter expertise, configuration, troubleshooting, training, and implementation guidance for cyber security, network security, and network protection solutions.
- Hands-on troubleshooting and securing software-defined networking (SDN) technology.
- Development and delivery of technical training courses on cyber security and secure networking solutions.
- Performing vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and risk assessments.
- Staying updated on cyber threat landscape and providing guidance on cyber security practices.
- Providing expertise on security operations centre (SOC) technologies.
- Configuration, troubleshooting, and implementation guidance for identity security and authentication solutions.
- Creating/updating system documentation and technical specifications.
- Assessing new cyber security solutions and technology trends.
- Presenting to various stakeholders and providing project status reports.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Cyber Security and Network Security (50%):
- Hands-on experience with next-generation cyber security technologies, firewalls, SIEM, endpoint security solutions, cloud-based security solutions, identity security solutions, etc.
- Experience with authentication solutions, SOC troubleshooting, and cyber security frameworks.
- Network Technology (20%):
- Hands-on experience with network infrastructure solutions, SDN, data monitoring systems, network traffic analysis tools, etc.
- Coordination Skills and Experience (15%):
- Strong communication skills, experience in preparing written materials, and coordinating technical work with multiple teams.
- Industry Certifications / Relevant Degrees (10%):
- Cyber security certification (e.g., CEH, CISSP, or CISM) and relevant vendor certifications or equivalent work experience.
- Public Sector Experience (5%):
- Knowledge of Government of Ontario standards and policies, experience working with Ontario K-12 school boards, and providing support and training.
Must-have Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with cyber security and network security solutions.
- Experience with authentication solutions, SOC troubleshooting, and SDN technologies.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Cyber security certification.
Nice-to-have Qualifications:
- Public sector experience, particularly with K-12.
