Description/Comment:
The function covers objective assurance and consulting activity designed to improve an organization operations by evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. May also be responsible for liaising with the Risk and Compliance functions. This role is found where individuals cover a broad area of responsibilities rather than focusing on one specific role. Responsible for the evaluation and monitoring of a company risk management, control and governance practices, with recommendations for improvement where necessary. and best practices. Makes recommendations to Business Unit Owners. Provides detailed feedback to business unit management.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will help to roll out the Data Privacy and Protection Program across Canada, US and LATAM locations.
Responsibilities include:
Drive creation of documents to their completion and manage risks inherent to execution or consequence of the changing context
Maintain issues and risk log, project plan(s), documentation on the projects, governance materials etc. related to the project
Review work for completeness, accuracy and effectiveness of staff assigned to support the sub-work stream to ensure high level of qualify on all deliverables
Support the creation of presentations and summaries for senior management to review and approve documents
Acts as liaison with head office in Canada, US and LATAM with regards to Data Privacy & Protection efforts and as point of contact for senior management in business lines and functions, locally and globally on the assigned projects.
Coordinate with teams working on Data Privacy and Protection streams
Continually drives improvements to the existing processes, reporting and delivery methods
Develops and maintains knowledge on the Data Privacy and Protection Program so as to constantly adjust, as relevant, your activities to the approach promoted by the Group
Reviews work for completeness, accuracy and effectiveness of staff assigned to the project to ensure high level of quality on the project
Experience in taking requirements and working with multiple lines of business
Ability to practically apply project management concepts to facilitate the achievement of business objectives ensuring predictable, consistent, and successful program delivery
Qualifications:
Master’s or degree in business, finance or legal related
At least 10+ years’ experience in project management and business analysis with a minimum of 6 years as project, project portfolio or program manager
Prior experience working in projects dealing with Data Privacy and Data protection regulations
Proven knowledge and experience with IT and data flows intensive undertakings
Knowledge of proprietary technology platforms around either accounting, counterparties, reporting or business intelligence is a plus
Knowledge of financial industry and related products
Develops open, considerate and effective relationships with customers, external contacts and primary data consumer senior leadership
Focused approach to problem solving which must include flexibility while maintaining keeping focus on priorities defined by overall impact
Ability to think analytically
Attention to detail and the ability to work with a distributed multinational and multicultural teams
Ability to work under pressure and creatively address various topics on-hand
Ability to prioritize and manage a variable workload
Effectively conveys the message in both written and verbal business discussions
Have exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to handle complex projects in a multi-tasking environment and meet deadlines while delivering high quality results
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
PMP certification
AIPP Certifications a plus (CIPM, CIPP/US/CA/EU/C, etc…)
