On behalf of our client in the Government Services Sector, PROCOM is looking for a Junior Security Analyst. Junior Security Analyst - Job Description
We are currently looking for a Junior Security Analyst with relevant experience to assess cybersecurity risks, defend against security incidents, and manage security requests
Conduct security reviews, evaluations, risk assessments and develop recommendations for improvements
Maintain and monitor Information Security Risk Exception process
Coordinate review and update of IT security governance documents (e.g. policies, standards, and procedures)
Work on SOC2 requests and partner with vendor to complete SOC2 requirements
Perform incident response investigations, containment and root cause analysis activities across multiple platforms and environments
Perform security standards testing against computers before implementation
Drives the end-to-end vulnerability lifecycle from discovery to closure (i.e. identification, Evaluation, Remediation and Reporting)
Ensures timely follow up with patch management and vulnerability remediation in coordination with support teams.
Performs, reviews, and interprets vulnerability assessments based on established schedule
Maintain an understanding of current IT security risks and vulnerabilities. Keep abreast of new behaviors by threat actors and threat mitigation approaches
Builds knowledge of and stays current on developments in the cyber threat landscape to adopt investigation techniques and provide recommendations on responding to and remediating related incidents, including the development of proactive analytics use cases
Process service requests for security risk assessment
Completing security reviews and application scans
Coordinating vulnerability management activities
Provide support for incident response
Junior Security Analyst - Mandatory Skills
Bachelor of Sciences in Computer Science or Information Security or Cybersecurity or a related field
3+ years of experience in Information Technology operations / implementation support
2+ years of progressive experience in information security risk assessment, security investigations and resolutions
Familiar with IT and Security principles/frameworks such as NIST RMF and associated special publications, ISO 27001 and 31000
Practical knowledge of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies
Adaptable and flexible in use of Security technologies and processes
Excellent written & verbal communications skills (communicating at all levels with internal & external stakeholders)
An ability to effectively influence others to modify their opinions, plans or behaviors
An understanding of organizational mission, values, goals, and consistent application of this knowledge
Excellent communication and interpersonal with the ability to communicate with a diverse group of stakeholders at all organization levels
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities with proven time management skills
